Angelos Papanastssiou was a Greek patrician, a naval officer, successful businessman and a royalist. During World War II he bravely kept a film diary about the nazi-Italian occupation between 1941-5. He decided on the first day of the war that he would record the sufferings of his country and nation. In the meantime his daughter was born and we follow her growing up with the help of this passionate and tragic diary.
Day-by-day, wartime Athens comes to life again as we watch the pictures of private Greece edited to the music of Tibor Szemző.
