Taking Seat, or the Arrival of the Peanuts
(Helyfoglalás, avagy a mogyorók bejövetele)
(1999, feature, 35mm, colour, 82 min.)
Director of photography:
"The peanuts are few, they are a bit late and some of them don’t know whether or not they came at a suitable time, did things right, or chose the correct partner for themselves. They don’t know what the future will bring but while they’re thinking about all this, they eat, stick pigs, make love, sleep, long for things, listen to peanutsongs and die in a wrong way. Even their camera is made of wood. This is a bad film because it doesn’t send the message of the peanuts correctly and it’s too emotional and sinks into the details too often. Somebody said it’s rather oldish. When we were editing it I realized that the peanuts were very similar to me, so the mistakes are mine. Maybe I just can’t separate very well but it’s so hard to change, although I tried, cross my heart! I thank to Adilla, Keve, Löhöl, Kadicha, the Girls, Karcsi, Tibi, Szabi, and uncle Sanyi for helping me to understand that we should change together."
