The MDF markets (named after a political party, the Hungarian Democratic Forum) organized by a member of the parliament, Gyula Zacsek, quickly became popular amongst the people. However, opinions were divided ont he operational conditions of the markets from the very beginning. In January 1993, the local mayor, Levente Levay in Kispest, decided to close down their market, offering another site instead. Led by Zacsek, the producers and vendors organized a protest demonstration and continued selling. The film made in those days.
