Due to a recent rule at MÁV, five old men (each over the age of seventy) can travel free on any train in Hungary. The train provides not only accommodation for them but it is also the scene of their social life. Most of them used to be residents in a homeless shelter (they call it the ”Lords’ House”), or they were expelled from their houses and flats. But there are also those who get on the train at 6.20 every morning – just for the sake of the company. One might think that such a journey is full of peace and relaxation, but it’s not true. The old men can’t always exist peacefully side by side. Therefore, the compartment is often the place of huge arguments. Stories of seventy years appear from the mists of remembrance. The happiness, loves, failures, pain, lessons and guilt of a life coming to an end.
