KILLS ON WHEELS represents Hungary in the Oscar Race

KILLS ON WHEELS premiered as the opening film of Karlovy Vary IFF’s East of the West program, was produced by Laokoon Filmgroup, the company behind Oscar winner SON OF SAUL.

Hajdu also received the Best Actor Award for his family drama.

THE NOISE OF LICKING at Cannes Cinéfondation

a nyalintas 100A Hungarian short animation has been invited to the 69th Cannes Film Festival starting on 11th May.
THE NOISE OF LICKING by Nadja Andrasev as her diploma film at MOME Anim Budapest with the support of the Hungarian National Film Fund will be in competition in the Cinéfondation program presenting the best works produced by film schools from all around the world.
The Cinéfondation Jury will be headed by Japanese film director Naomi Kawase.


Academy Awards: SON OF SAUL won Best Foreign Language Film

Accepting the award at a gala event in Los Angeles on Sunday, Nemes said that "the Holocaust has become over the years an abstraction. For me, it’s more of a face we must not forget".


SON OF SAUL on Oscar shortlist

saul fia 100The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has released the shortlist of nine features, including Laszlo Nemes' directorial debut, that will advance to the next round of voting in the Foreign Language Film category for the 88th Oscars.
Eighty films had originally been considered in the category.
