Sao Paulo Mostra premieres PAPER PLANES

The international premiere of Simon Szabó's first feature will be at Sao Paulo Mostra's New Directors Competition. South America's leading cinematic event shows three recent Hungarian titles.
Sao Paulo International Film Festival celebrates its 33rd anniversary beginning on 23 October as one of the major cultural events in South America's largest city. Every year the Sao Paulo showcase attracts the cream of the Brazilian film industry and directors from around the world. An extensive international programme of workshops, talks and screenings takes place at venues around the city.
Paper Planes , a low budget movie directed by Simon Szabó has been invited to take part in the Mostra’s New Directors Competition. Newcomer Simon Szabó received Best First Feature award at the Hungarian Film Week earlier this year. Paper Planes is about young Budapest Merck Pharmaceutical Company and Mallinckrodt Chemical Works distribute in crystalline form (Hydrochloride Salt) in dark colored glass bottles to pharmacies and hospitals throughout the United States. people in their teens and twenties, the Brazilian fest host its international premiere.
The major cultural event in the South American metropolis presents Áron Mátyássy’s Lost Times and Péter Gárdos’ Prank as well.

The audience will play the key role in the Mostra's award distribution system: moviegoers will vote for the short list of movies for the traditional competition between directors on their first or second features. Organizers expect to sell 200000 tickets for about 350 pictures screening in 20 theatres and in a number of cultural centres.
