Children of the Green Dragon (HU/PL) by Bence Miklauzic
This drama revolves around a Hungarian and a Chinese man who meet on business. The Hungarian man is a real estate agent in charge of selling a suburban storage building where the Chinese man lives, where he works as a guard. With talk of soccer as the turning point, a strange friendship begins between the two lonely men. The situation is further complicated by the emergence of a pizza delivery girl and a strange love triangle.
The interesting plotline makes this human drama exciting. The movie begins casually by presenting the two lonely men’s daily lives, and then changes pace into events full of conflict, to conclude with an optimistic message. Full of pathos, the humor creates a bittersweet emotion. Unlike other movies that rely on violence, it focuses on the two men’s relationship. The melodrama happening on the side adds to the entertainment, and the commonplace appearance of the main characters makes the movie more realistic than ever. (JEON Chanil)
