Oporto IFF - Portugal's biggest film celebration - awarded Best Director and Best Actor prize to Pater Sparrow's feature debut, 1 based on Stanislaw Lem's short story One Human Minute.
Fantasporto, Portugal’s biggest film festival ended successful for Hungarian first feature director Pater Sparrow and well-known actor Zoltán Mucsi on 6th March in Oporto. Two awards of the 20th anniversary Director’s Week sidebar program went to the Hungarian sci-fi movie 1, based on Stanislaw Lem’s short story “One Human Minute”. The Best Director Award went to Pater Sparrow while Zoltán Mucsi was named Best Actor of the Director’s Week.
Sparrow’s directorial debut was produced by Honeymood studio headed by established Hungarian director Zoltán Kamondi and was awarded at Budapest national film week and Granda’s youth filmmaker festival in 2009.
The nine-day Fantasporto presented over 400 feature and short films. The Director’s Week was held under the patronage of prestigious Portuguese film director Manoel de Oliveira.
