CINEMA TOTAL 6 - Europa Endlos (9-13th February 2013), a programme for film professionals during the Berlinale hosted by the Collegium Hungaricum Berlin is accepting applications for its alternative pitching event.
PITCH STOP will include a morning workshop and individual consultation, as well as a public pitch in the afternoon. Instead of a conventional pitching, Cinema Total‘s event focuses on personalised guidance and professional advice offered by notable film professionals. Last year’s consultants included amongst others Charlotte Mickie, Clémant Duboin, Michel Reilhac, Anthony Muir, Ada Solomon, Susanne Schmidt, Ewa Puszczynska and Stefan Laudyn.
PITCH STOP addresses directors who already have made a first feature, or internationally acclaimed short films, and their producers. The projects presented must be fiction features of high quality and originality and still at a stage in their development in which they could benefit from advice given.
Conceived as a brief stop in the race towards production, PITCH STOP offers each project a comprehensive check-up, including a discussion of potential co-production partners, possible sources of financing (regional and national film subsidies), the feasibility of TV presales, and marketability.
After a brief presentation of their projects, the project’s attending producers and directors, will have the opportunity to stop at several stations (pitch stops), at which they will be given project specific advice from the consultants. The stations,, will include development, financing, marketing, distribution, and festival advice. After a break, during which the producers and directors of the presented projects will have a chance to digest comments and advice, they will pitch to an invited audience of producers, distributors and representatives of film subsidy organisations. Other than presenting to outside producers and distributors, we hope that attending producers will also use the opportunity to listen in on their neighbors’ projects and perhaps find possibilities of collaboration. The PITCH STOP event will take place from 10am to 5pm. Participants are asked to arrive at 9am on the day for preparation.
Following the event, participants, consultants and audience will have the chance to unwind in Cinema Total’s lounge. The day will end with Cinema Total’s after party, to which all are warmly invited.
